He did it!

While here on Spring Break, Jake spent a lot of time studying for his driving permit. We quizzed him on it constantly and the boy knew his stuff. The day after he flew home to Oregon, he passed the test and got his permit. He was so excited and so were we. He worked hard to achieve it and we are very proud of him. Now he is driving the open road, so beware!! We love you buddy and our so proud of all your accomplishments!

Spring Break 2011

For Spring Break this year we drove to our home in Utah. We had Jake fly in to Salt Lake and filled in about every second with activity!

We made it into Utah Friday afternoon, dropped off all our stuff at the house and headed to the airport to get Jake. It was so good to see Jake again. It had been about 2 months since our last visit! Too long! But he has wrestling and the Explorer Program with the fire dept. so the boy is busy!

Saturday we had the girls pool party so it was a pretty full day!

Sunday I think everyone had fun. Mike, Jordyn and Jake went snowboarding and skiing and I took Ireland shopping at the outlets in Park City! Now that is what I am talking about. Although I do enjoy boarding, I haven't been able to go in about 5 years because of babies or back issues, so I have no problem shopping instead!

The rest of Spring Break Utah was spent taking everyone to Dr. appts and dental exams, hair and nails, all the things we like to have done by people we know and trust! Not much fun, but had to be done! And then Jakey flew home and we drove and drove and drove back to our tiny apartment in Denver....did I mention we really miss our house and friends in Utah...and church, and neighbors, and everything!!!!

Grandma Nita is Here!

My camera broke about 2 days before my mom came for her visit. Of course it did!! Anyway, I think I got 2 pics for the whole week, but I guess that is better than none.

Pinkalicious was one of Jordyn's favorite books and by far is Ireland's!

Ireland driving the Jeep for the 1st time. She doesn't quite know how to steer yet! Look out!

Grandma Nita and Ireland watching tv. They just got done reading 400 books in a row!

Birthday, Birthday and More Birthday

I think our girls had a birthday month this year instead of just one day!! My mom came for her regular March visit which gets the girls excited for their birthdays! The girls wanted to celebrate at a place called Jump Street. Jump Street is a mother's worst nightmare!! Wall to wall trampolines, and about 6 large jumpy houses, as well as batting cages and a few other things thrown in. But it is a free for all!! Thankfully, we had my mom, and our awesome friend Shondra there to help supervise, so I wasn't a complete nervouse wreck! The girls had 2 friends who were able to come as well. We went home and enjoyed Ireland's much anticipated Dora Cake! That was birthday party #1!

For birthday party #2 we traveled to Utah. Most of our friends live there and that is definately where Jordyn and Ireland's closest pals are. Jordyn wanted a swimming party and much to our surprise it wasn't going to break the bank to pay for it. We ended up with 13 kiddos attending and 10 kiddos swimming. Thanks again to some great friends for helping chaperone and swim with the kids. We all wanted the kids to have fun and be safe as well. I think we accomplished both. All the kids had a blast and I know my 3 slept very well that night!! Thank you again to EVERYONE who helped out to make their birthday party a success, we couldn't have done it without you. A special thanks to Jaclyn who made the Justin Bieber cake! My goodness that was an adventure to try and nail down, but Jaclyn was such a blessing and saved the day with our custom cake!!!

On each girls "real" birthday they chose a place to go to dinner. Ireland chose Red Robin. Which is a good choice for her, because it is loud and you get a balloon when you leave. Its a win, win! Jordyn of course chose Outback and bless her for it! We ALL love it! For some reason after dinner the girls wanted to take a few pics and I was stoked! I usually have to bribe them to get photos!!

I can't believe another year has passed. They are growing right before our very eyes. I feel so blessed that they have 2 parents who love them and support them. I just pray they feel the love that we give them(I think they do) And of course the love God gives them daily! Until next year everyone.....Happy Birthday Colligan Girls!

Our Princess is 8!

To most people St. Patrick's Day is about wearing green and drinking green beer. For The Colligan Clan it has never involved the green beer part, but 8 years ago the green really didn't seem to matter anymore either. For us March 17th is the day the Lord blessed us with Miss Jordyn Riley Colligan. I will never forget the feelings of holding my first born child on my chest and being so overwhelmed that God had entrusted me with one of His finest creations! She has challenged me as well as amazed me since before she was born and I thank God daily that she is ours! Happy
8th birthday to our little princess!! We love you!

I couldn't get a baby pic of Jordyn because we obviously couldn't afford a digital camera way back then!!! So the latest I have of her was age 3!! She actually let me do her hair too back then! Wow!

Ireland is 3!

Ireland Cassidy Colligan was born on 3/03/08. She was 8 weeks premature. Although, she did spend the first month of her life in the NICU, she was strong and a fighter from the very beginning. She needed to learn to eat on her own and it took awhile for her to figure it all out, but once she did we were able to take her home. She weighed in at 3lbs 8oz and 19 1/2in long.

Ireland in her first "home." The NICU at Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado.

And here she is today. Three short years later! This girl was born a feisty fighter and we are convinced that will stick with her for her entire life! She knows what she wants and what she doesn't and isn't afraid to let you know! (I don't know where she got that from) She has completed our family. She makes us laugh constantly and is usually a pure joy to be around! We are so thankful to God for blessing us with a beautiful and healthy little girl. We pray God continues to guide her steps as well as ours in directing her in the truth. Thank you Jesus for our beautiful family!
And Happy 3rd Birthday to our Little Monkey! We all love you very much!
