My babies aren't babies anymore

So, I heard my girls playing the other day and these photos show what I found! They are both getting so big. Ireland just started pulling herself up on everything. She also is convinced she can do anything the big kids can do! Watching Jordyn and her play brings me a greater joy than I have ever known. Jordyn is almost 6! I am so proud of her, but it is a little bitter sweet watching your babies grow. My time with them is so limited in the grand scheme of things and though being a mom has it's challenges I don't like knowing there will be a day when they won't be right down the hall. Maybe, today is just a mushy day, but the time seems to go by faster and faster! And Jakey is going to be in high school in 8 months! Ahhhhh, what happened to my little boy wearing his basketball shorts with cowboy boots????? Or his undies on the outside of his pants? I swear that was just yesterday! Oh, wait the underwear thing was yesterday!!! Just kidding! Anyway, enjoy the pics!

blah, blah, blah

It's been a while since I posted anything, so while I have a minute I will give an update for those of you interested. I found out this week that I will need to have back surgery. Apparently, I have a large "bulge" in my spine! I will be having that removed on Monday and I am sure some great story to go along with it. But, for those of you who know what I have been dealing with, it will be nice to walk again! Thanks for the prayers!

Jordyn is going skiing tomorrow with her school. I can't believe how big she is! They will be skiing Vail 2 days. I don't know about you, but I don't remeber those days when I was in kindergarten! Shoot, I didn't even know how to ski in kindergarten.

Ireland cut her 2nd tooth! Yay! And she slept the entire night for half of the week. That has been so amazing!

Jakey just went back to Portland from a quick weekend visit here. We squeezed as much play time in as possible though. He was "riding" the rails at Vail Mountain! Too cool! I can't wait until he gets back here in a few weeks!

Mike is working on placing a ceiling in the youth room of the church and thankfully has been blessed with a couple helpers. So, the youth will be able to have service on Sunday's as well starting this week.

Well, nothing so exciting, but that is the update. I will post some of Ireland's recent photos too.

All before 7:30 in the morning

So, last night was pretty exciting at my house. Ireland has a nasty cold and could not sleep. She tried, but just kept waking up crying, which means Mommy didn't sleep either. I was looking so forward to taking Jordyn to school this morning, knowing that I could catch a nap while Ireland finally got some rest. So much for wishful thinking. In trying to get dressed Jordyn decided she would crawl back under the covers and banged her head on my wrought iron head board. She was in a lot of pain and I can imagine it hurt...I've done it myself....she gets her clutziness from me. So we continue to get dressed and she lifts her hand and we both see it is covered in blood. We both freak out. I on the inside her everywhere. I try to stay calm while speed dialing Michael at work because of course he can tell me what to do! Duh! Well, she didn't have to go to emergency, her head has a pretty nice goose egg and a tiny cut. But, if anyone has ever had a head injury you know they bleed forever. Needless to say she is staying home from school today with a towel on her head! All before 7:30am! Just Another Day In Paradise!

So Will 2009 Really Be Divine????

Divine in 09! This was the title of our pastor's last message of Dec 08. I thought it was hilarious! I guess finding a word that rhymes with 09 is more challenging than one might think.

I have to say I am thankful the year is over. Mainly because the beginning of a new year represents a clean slate. For the most part 2008 was amazing! We welcomed our baby girl Ireland Cassidy into our family, Jordyn started kindergarten, and Jacob entered the 8th grade. We have made some amazing new friends who have made life here feel like home. And our church has been life changing for not only us, but our kids! Pretty life changing year! Not to mention my close call with death after delivering Ireland. We ended the year on a high note by celebrating Christmas in Florida. What a nice break for everyone. While not everything in 2008 was perfect all in all it was filled with more blessings than trials! And I will take a year like that anytime! Glory to God for all His wonderful provisions! Here's to a Blessed New Year in 2009. May it be DIVINE!!!
